Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi invites applications from eligible candidates to fill-up the following post on contract basis.

 

1.         Name of the Post      :           IT System Administrator

 

2.         Educational Qualification:  

 

(i)        Essential:   MCA/ B.Tech.IT/Diploma in Hardware & Software

                                                                                   

3.         Knowledge, Skills And Experience :         

Minimum 02 years experience in the field of Information Technology.

Sound understanding and experience of IT networks.

Knowledge and experience of system administration and security.

Good interpersonal skills.

Ability to put across technical information in a simple, user-friendly manner.

Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure.

 

4.         Key Responsibilities:

 

·         To maintain the NT and UNIX Networks and attached equipment and ensure that they function effectively.

·         Monitor the performance of the IT Infrastructure and take proactive action to address potential issues which may impact system performance and availability.

·         To take remedial action in order to restore operation of the network in case of system failure.

·         To ensure that the security of the network is maintained through efficient systems administration and control of user access.

·         To provide technical support and advice to users for equipment attached to the Network, both by phone and at a remote workstation.

·         To provide assistance with the installation, upgrading and updating of Hardware and Software on the Network.

·         To maintain accurate records of user support requests.

·         To assist in ensuring that security operating procedures for the Network are followed.

·         To assist in the support and configuration of the telephone system

 

5.          COMPLEXITY AND CREATIVITY – PROBLEM SOLVING:

·         The job holder is required to identify the source of the problem and to diagnose a solution, involving routine analysis, whilst minimizing downtime. Some initiative is required in order to provide improvement of techniques. More complex issues would be referred to the IT Systems Co-ordinator.
